Litters

My bitches are not bred until 3 years of age, allowing each dog to fully mature. All my dogs are working dogs not puppy making machines. They live a full and happy life and only bred two or three times in their life time.

Breeding my dogs is not a challenge I take without a lot of thought and consideration. It takes careful planning , time and a lot of effort to raise a well socialised, healthy puppy.

Prior to mating my dog would be health checked and always given the herpes vaccine before and during pregnancy.

All pens has indoor heating and heat lamps. The whelping pen is fitted with CCTV camera's. Every dog is allowed in and out of the house . they enjoy nothing better than to lie watching TV with the human pack . Each dog is loved for its own personality

During whelping I always ensure I am present in case a problem arises, my vet is aware of the due date and is on call 24hrs.
Pups are handled from day one and are weighed. each pup is given individual names

I spend a lot of time with any new litters. Sometimes to the extent that nothing else in the household gets done

The worst part of raising a litter is after so many weeks of caring for these prescious creatures I have to find new homes for them so in order to make the change as easy as possible each pup is brought in individually and crate trained.

I am always at the other end of the phone. Any owner that has a problem will have life long support, I have had a couple of pups back to train in basic obedience.
