Working Dogs

 Five years ago I got started in Labradors by accident, and I have never looked back. I feel I was truely blessed when I got star, she was a very timid puppy and it took me weeks to gain her trust, as months went by she started showing her natural ability and willingness to please.

Both Star and Zodiac are working dogs who pick up during the winter months. Star has won many working tests competitions and shows a passion to work. Zodiac is work in progress and I hope to trial her this year. Zeila will begin training when she reaches the age of six months but for now she will be retrieving tennis balls in play...but really this is basic training for what’s to come in the future.

All our dogs are trained by me with basic obedience and gundog training from the age of 6 months, I believe in positive training and allow for bad days. My dogs are enthusiastic to please but can potentially embarrass you at times.

I love having a dog that you just don’t take out for a walk, but one who is continually looking at me, waiting for my next command. My dogs have an instinct to work, they want to learn something new each day and I feel they have an active happy life.

I owe alot to Tommy Hughes Jr and Declan Boyle who continually help me and give great advice; both have qualified and competed in the C.L.A trials. They have a unique ability in which they are able to make the majority of their dogs up to F.T.CH. / F.T.W. - Which both men have trained from pups. I have great respect for Tommy and Declan and hope to follow in their footsteps!!
